What is Hyalo4 Start ?
Hyaluronic Acid and Collagenase promote Healing of Chronic Wounds and prepare the Wound Bed.
Hyalo4 Start is a fluid ointment for topical use containing sodium hyaluronate obtained by bacterial fermentation, as the principal component, and bacterial collagenase obtained from a non-pathogeneic Vibro alginolyticus strain, as an incorporated medicinal substance. Hyalo4 Start allows the preparation of the wound bed, thanks to the hydrating properties of hyaluronic acid that promotes the natural repair process and protects the new viable tissue. In fact the process of cicatrization of the lesion takes place more rapidly in a moist enviroment. The bacterial collagenase assist in the wound bed preparation.
What is Hyalo4 Start indicated for?
Local management of chronic wounds. In particular, it is intended to provide an optimal moist enviroment and wound bed preparation that supports the natural process.

  • Highly purified enzyme, degrades fibrinous and necrotic tissue contributing to wound bed preparation

How to use Hyalo4 Start ?
Step 1
Clean
Clean the wound using physiological solution.
Step 2
Apply
Apply a 2 mm layer of Hyalo4 Start once a day, or according to the indications of the healthcare professional. A sterile spatula can be used for easier application.
Step 3
Cover
Cover the wound with a non-stick medication such as a non-adherent dressing.
Step 4
Bandage
Cover the treated area with a sterile dressing to assure an appropriate contact.

Chronic Pressure Ulcer

Patient: Female 97 years old.
Diagnosis:

  • chronic pressure ulcer on the external malleolus in the right leg
  • Approximately 3x2 cm

T= 0

The wound bed is covered with fibrin, with signs of granulation. The margins are clear but with signs of maceration. The wound is cleansed with physiological solution and then Hyalo4® Start - Ointment (collagenase and hyaluronic acid) is applied to remove the fibrin and stimulate the healing process. As secondary medication a thin hydrocolloid is used. Medication applied every four days.

T= 1 (42 days)

The image shows the reduced size of the wound, margins are clear vital and contracting, no signs of maceration and a clean and cleansed bed. Slight hyper-granulation on the wound bed. Given the results obtains so far, it is decided to continue with Hyalo4® Start - Ointment (collagenase and hyaluronic acid) to keep the wound bed clean and to stimulate the healing process. Secondary medication with thin hydrocolloid. Medication changed every four days.

T= 2 (54 days)

Wound well on the way to healing, with minimum size with respectto the beginning, vital and well cleansed bed, vital margins in reepithelialisation, healthy skin around the wound. It is decided to apply a thin hydrocolloid until final healing.
